Angus Murray

Angus Murray is a solo artist from the Southern Highlands, NSW Australia. He has already developed a considerable following and is quickly making a name for himself as both a popular entertainer and as a talented singer/songwriter. His music is appealing to all age groups due to his versatility and wide choice of music.

Angus has played many venues in his local and surrounding areas since 2009 with his band Eklypse, with his older brother Ben in their duo The Murray Bros. and as a solo performer. Most recently, Angus won the inaugural Buskers Battle held in Moss Vale against some very talented performers including the National Busking Champions. Celebrity judges were Margaret Urlich, pre-school star Sam Moran, local radio 2ST’s Graeme Day and legendary guitar player from The Sports, Martin Armiger were reported as saying “we had a tough time deciding the winner, but in the end it was unanimous, 18 year old Angus Murray blitzed the Battle! His rendition of ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ gave everyone goosebumps”.

In congratulating Angus on his fantastic win, the event organiser Kristie Phelan said “It was a unanimous decision by the judges and I was so chuffed to see such a deserving young man take out the Battle title. He was so humble on stage and it was even more wonderful to witness that humility with such an astonishing talent.”

As a composer and multi-instrumentalist on guitar, voice, drums, piano and bass, Angus has recently released his first solo EP, “Shelter” and hopes the win will help him to reach a wider audience. It has also given him the confidence to focus on performing his originals which were so well received by the crowd.
